Are you an experienced and passionate Lifestyle Coordinator who is looking to work outside of the typical model? Where residents’ individual needs, preferences and interests are truly embraced. Juniper is now looking for a Lifestyle Coordinator to join our Allied Health team in a part time capacity.
The role is responsible for identifying resident’s needs, understanding their interest’s, preferences and capabilities and developing suitable lifestyle activities. As a Lifestyle Coordinator you will liaise closely with all staff, residents and family members getting to know residents and helping the whole team best meet their needs.
The successful candidate will be offered a part time position, working Monday to Thursday, 32.5 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement effective lifestyle programs that reflect the needs, interests and lifestyle of the residents
- Build and maintain positive relationships with both residents and family members to ensure their individuality is understood and needs are met
- Document resident history and ensure this is communicated to all staff
- Develop resident lifestyle programs in conjunction with each resident and their family
- Work collaboratively with Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, Carers and the wider team to ensure that each life style program is effective for each resident.
- Assist in the development of a monthly calendar of scheduled recreational events and activities
- Actively coordinate and promote the socialisation of all residents, assisting them to further develop and or maintain their connections
- Evaluate resident lifestyle programs and adjust as required to suit the changing needs of the resident
Skills, Qualifications and Knowledge required:
- Completion of relevant Allied Health certificate or equivalent (Essential)
- Senior First Aid Certificate (Desirable)
- Previous experience in Aged Care sector as a Lifestyle Coordinator or as a Therapy Assistant (Essential)
- Demonstrate a high standard of oral and written communication skills
- Planning and organisational skills
- Demonstrate knowledge of, competency in providing a range of therapeutic interventions / lifestyle activities to residents
- Demonstrates knowledge and skill required to communicate with and support residents with dementia
