Juniper is now inviting applications from experienced Catering Managers who are interested in leading a team of chefs and kitchenhands to deliver a quality experience to our aged care sites in Bentley. 

Reporting to the Hospitality Services Manager John Rabone, this position will have a key focus on building customer and resident relations through the dining experience. In this role you will be responsible for coordinating the daily catering operations to our 4 residential aged care facilities, the Rowethorpe Village Café and any additional catering requirements for on-site functions and training sessions.  

In this leadership role you will be responsible for planning, budget management, supplier liaison as well as the recruitment, training and mentoring of your team to ensure Juniper's catering services adhere to industry leading best practice. You may also work alongside the Hospitality Services Manager in the development of  menus and strategic plans.

The successful applicant will be appointed to a permanent full-time position, working Monday to Friday during normal business hours

Key Responsibilities of this role:

  • Consultation with Residential Managers and key stakeholders to develop quality catering services
  • Overseeing the provision of nutritious meals and special dietary requirements
  • Leadership and training of catering staff to ensure quality services are provided to our residents
  • Ensuring Juniper’s catering services adhere to Best Practice Standards
  • Providing a high level of customer service and building customer relations through a high level of communication and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Monitoring of all catering related costs and ensuring budgets are adhered to and financial targets are met or exceeded
  • Menus standardised and calculated to ensure compliance
  • Relationship management of suppliers to guarantee and ensure quality and reliability

Selection Criteria:

  • Qualification in Catering Management and/or Chef training (essential)
  • Proven experience as a Catering Manager or Executive Chef (essential)
  • Experience in Aged Care (highly desirable)
  • Knowledge of the Aged Care Quality Standards (2019)
  • Working knowledge of current OSH and legal requirements relating to catering
  • Working knowledge of statutory regulations relating to the provision of catering services and food handling
  • Demonstrated experience in the planning and monitoring of budgets and financial targets
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Compassion and empathy for elderly or vulnerable residents
