What's on offer:

  • Attractive rates of pay $25.67 plus penalty rates / casual loading as applicable.
  • Salary Sacrifice of up to $15,900 p/a

  • Currently offering a variety of shifts throughout the week, including early shifts of 6.30am - 2.30pm, later morning shifts of 10.00am - 3.00pm and short afternoon shifts of 4.00pm - 7.00pm.
  • Full Time and Part Time employment options considered

We are currently seeking to recruit Kitchen Hands to work at our newly rebuilt aged care home, Chrystal Halliday, located in Karrinyup. Chrystal Halliday is now ready to provide best practice services in a beautiful state of the art residence, catering for the needs of up to 120 people, who will make it their home.

The purpose of this role is to provide assistance in the catering team, including some food preparation, food service and cleaning repsonsibilities.

An understanding of food safety and experience within a busy aged care or health service setting will be very valuable.

A desire to contribute positively to the lives of those living at Chrystal Halliday will be essential.

Key Responsibilities of this role:

  • Preparing and presenting breakfast, serving of lunch and dinner
  • Provide kitchen hand services at our facility that include; preparation of food, modifying food texture, apportioning food accurately and serving food to residents
  • Cleaning of cooking areas and equipment to a high standard
  • Application of safe food handling practices
  • Adhere to Juniper's policies and procedures relating to Occupational Safety and Health

The Skills, Knowledge and Experience required:

  • Experience in a commercial cooking environment or aged care catering (desirable)
  • Safe food handling practice and hygiene standards
  • Demonstrating good written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of relevant chemicals and safe handling practices and procedures
  • Must have excellent organisational and time management skills
