We have a great oppportunity available for a Kitchenhand at our Juniper Community site located on Coolibah Drive in Kununurra.

The primary purpose of this role is to provide assistance in the kitchen, preparing food, assisting with meal services and keeping the kitchen area clean and compliant with food safety requirements. This will be a perfect opportunity for you if you have a passion for hospitality and also enjoy being with older people and making a positive difference to the lives of others. The duties of this role may vary depending upon the operational needs of the site.

On offer is a part-time role, working not less than 20 hours per week. 

Key Responsibilities of this role:

• Preparing and presenting breakfast, serving of lunch and dinner
• Provide kitchen hand services at our facility that include; preparation of food, modifying food texture, apportioning food accurately and serving food to residents
• Cleaning of cooking areas and equipment to a high standard
• Application of safe food handling practices
• Adhere to Juniper's policies and procedures relating to Occupational Safety and Health

The Skills, Knowledge and Experience required:

• Experience in a commercial cooking environment or aged care catering (desirable)
• Safe food handling practice and hygiene standards
• Demonstrating good written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of relevant chemicals and safe handling practices and procedures
• Must have excellent organisational and time management skills
