As the Executive Director of Planning and Strategy, you will embrace responsibility for driving Juniper’s operational planning and reporting.  You will lead in the areas of business intelligence and performance analytics, quality assurance, risk management, brand and business enhancement initiatives, ensuring optimal organisational development, performance and sustainability.

Your ability to survey the external environment, conducting research, thinking strategically and planning effectively will help you deliver valuable advice and reports to the Executive Leadership Team and Board. Your experience and insight will guide significant business case and strategic initiatives taking place throughout the organisation.

Significant exposure to Quality and Risk Management systems will be highly regarded, as Juniper is implementing an organisation wide Incident and Complaints Management System, and effective Document and Records Management processes.

This is a true leadership position, that will require relationship building and communication skills that enable you to motivate, inspire and guide both the teams reporting to you and the stakeholders that you will be regularly engaging with. Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience required:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, preferably post graduate.
  • Sound and contemporary knowledge of aged care or the health based sector and associated legislation, standards and reporting. (Highly desirable)
  • Well-developed understanding of project and change management, quality, risk, strategy, planning, overall business performance and marketing.
  • Significant experience in leading an integrated strategic, operational and performance management framework in a large and complex organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing business intelligence and analytics.
  • Demonstrated success in planning and implementing quality assurance and risk management frameworks.
  • Demonstrated success in building organisational capability.
  • Proven ability to communicate clearly and present complex analyses and recommendations in well evidenced and clearly written reports.
  • Demonstrated success in leading a busy team working within complex disciplines.  
  • Demonstrated success in building collaborative relationships and partnerships.
  • Demonstrated commitment to environmental sustainability.
  • High level strategic, conceptual and analytical skills, including the ability to implement and oversee a comprehensive strategic planning and reporting framework.
  • Highly developed business and financial analysis skills.
  • Strong project leadership and management skills.
  • Possess a results oriented approach and capacity as a ‘hands on’ practitioner in a consultative, service-focused and time-critical environment.
  • Ability to adapt and be a catalyst for change.
  • Capacity to oversee research and interpret and apply learnings from research results.
