We now have an opportunity available for an experienced Chef to oversee the operations of the kitchen at our Juniper Rowethorpe Catering division, located in Bentley WA.

These diverse roles will be responsible for the daily operations of our aged care facilities, site cafe, etc.

The purpose of this role is to prepare high quality, nutritious meals to meet our residents’ special dietary requirements. You will be responsible for supervising a small team of catering staff and ensuring all policies and procedures are adhered to. You will also make sure that the quality of meals is maintained at a high standard and that a safe food service is provided.

On offer are two permanent roles:

Full-time 37.5 hours per week working Thursday to Monday. 

Part-time 30.0 hours per week with required availability across 7 days. 

Key Responsibilities of this role:

  • Preparing and cooking high quality, nourishing meals for our residents
  • Monitoring all practices within the catering centre to ensure safe food handling and infection control procedures are being adhered to
  • Ensure all areas of the kitchen are cleaned to the highest standards
  • Stock control management, replenishing and ordering stock as required
  • Compliancy with Juniper’s Occupational, Safety and Health requirements

The Skills, Knowledge and Experience required:

  • Trade certification or experience in a commercial cooking environment and/or aged care catering (essential)
  • A comprehensive knowledge of dietary nutrition for the aged (essential)
  • Ability to manage bulk ordering, purchasing, and stock control of food
  • Competent in using Microsoft Office
  • Current certificate of receipt of 2020 Influenza Vaccination
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Empathy for elderly residents
