We are currently seeking a motivated OSH professional to join the experienced Health and Safety team based at our Juniper Central office, located in Balcatta. This is part time role working 3 days a week, with the potential to work additional days as required.

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, the main objective of this position is to provide services and programs that enhance standards of safety, health and well being for all staff, contractors, and volunteers.

Your key responsibilities will be to contribute to the continued development and implementation of Juniper's hazard management, evaluation and reporting initiatives. You will provide advice, support and coaching to all levels of staff in order to ensure a safe workplace and legislative compliance.

To be successful and confident in this role, you will have a Cert IV or higher in Occupational Health and Safety, excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience in the application of OSH Management Plans, investigating incidents and in conducting OSH Audits.

Key Responsibilities of this role:

  • Provision of effective, efficient and responsive OSH program support in collaboration with Residential  Managers, Health & Safety representatives and staff
  • Develop, implement and monitor OSH Management strategies, policies and procedures
  • Coordinate Hazard and Incident reporting systems and conduct investigations
  • Participate in regular audits and risk assessment activities to ensure risk control and Aged Care Standards and compliance
  • Implementation and monitoring of Juniper Hazard Management systems
  • Maintain positive relationships with relevant Juniper stakeholders

The Skills, Knowledge and Experience required:

  • Certificate IV (or higher) in Occupational Health and Safety
  • Demonstrated experience in applying OSH management systems, including performing workplace inspections and incident investigations
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience writing detailed reports
  • Experience in the provision of OSH advice to front line personnel
  • Previous experience in aged care, healthcare or community services (Desirable)
