Position Summary

We are currently seeking to recruit a Registered Nurse to manage our Residential Care Facility and provide oversight to the Community Care program at Juniper Marlgu, located in the town of Wyndham in the far north of WA. Experience in Aged and Community Care and/or remote and Rural services is a definite advantage but not essential.

The purpose of this role is to manage the Residential Care Facility, with nine licensed beds, and provide oversight and coordination of the delivery of eleven home care packages. You will be responsible for ensuring the care and services provided are responsive to all our care recipients’ spiritual, care and cultural needs, incorporating Juniper’s core values. This role will be responsible for the leadership and management of staff, resources and planning.

On offer for the successful person is a full time position working 75 hours per fortnight, salary packaging, ongoing professional development and housing within the grounds of the Residential Aged Care Facility.

Key Responsibilities of this role:  

  • Ensuring high quality care and services are delivered and client satisfaction is achieved both with the Residential and Community settings
  • Leading, managing and developing motivated and productive employees
  • Planning, monitoring and controlling financial resources, ensuring that the care and services are carried out within their annual budgets
  • Managing physical assets on site, information and communication

The Skills, Knowledge and Experience required:  

  • Registration with Nursing and Midwifery board of Australia
  • Certificate IV in Aged Care/Community Care or Frontline Management (desirable)
  • Knowledge and understanding of Aged and Community services, Accreditation,  Community Care Standards and all related legislative requirements and guidelines (desirable)
  • Demonstrated experience with managing human resources and rostering
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills
  • A good understanding of budget development and financial planning and monitoring.
  • Excellent written verbal and conceptual and analytical skills
  • Experienced in using Microsoft Office Programs and other business software.
  • Significant leadership and people management experience with the ability to develop and influence others and effect change within an organisation as required
