We are currently seeking to recruit an experienced Kitchen hand and cleaner to work at our Charles Jenkins Transition Care facility. This facility provides services and accommodation to older adults awaiting permanent placement to residential care, or a return to health to enable them to live independently again in the community. Located at our Rowethorpe site in Bentley this fully refurbished facility provides for up to 60 individuals requiring additional care and support as part of their discharge from hospital.

The purpose of this role is to provide assistance in the Kitchen and also throughout the facility completing cleaning duties.

On offer for the successful candidate/s is a casual position, working a variety of shifts and hours to cover planned and unplanned leave.

Key Responsibilities of this role:

  • Preparing and presenting breakfast, serving of lunch and dinner
  • Provide kitchen hand services at our facility that include; preparation of food, modifying food texture, apportioning food accurately and serving food to residents
  • Cleaning of cooking areas and equipment to a high standard
  • Application of safe food handling practices
  • Preparing and presenting breakfast, serving of lunch and dinner
  • Provide kitchen hand services at our facility that include; preparation of food, modifying food texture, apportioning food accurately and serving food to residents
  • Provide cleaning services including vacuuming, emptying rubbish bins, dusting, wiping surfaces, maintaining the cleanliness of residents’ rooms, windows, toilets, bathrooms and communal areas
  • Demonstrate a high level of respect for residents’ property and privacy
  • Adhere to Juniper's policies and procedures relating to Occupational Safety and Health

The Skills, Knowledge and Experience required:

  • Experience in a commercial cooking environment or aged care catering (desirable)
  • Safe food handling practice and hygiene standards
  • Demonstrating good written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of relevant chemicals and safe handling practices and procedures
  • Must have excellent organisational and time management skills
