We are currently seeking an Occupational Therapist to work at our newly rebuilt aged care home, Chrystal Halliday, located in Karrinyup. Chrystal Halliday is now ready to provide best practice services in a beautiful state of the art residence, catering for the needs of up to 120 people, who will make it their home.

Our Occupational Therapists are responsible for providing Occupational Therapy assessment, treatment, care and advice to our residents. This is a key position in the development of resident care plans which will see the successful person develop activities based on resident requirements.

 

A commencement date will be negotiated withthe successful candidate, but likely to be in June or July 2019.

 

Key Responsibilities of this role:

  • Assessing, developing, implementing and evaluating individual and group Occupational Therapy needs
  • Implementing mobility programs to meet individual needs of residents
  • Contributing to the team development, implementation, review and evaluation of Occupational Therapy care plans
  • Supporting the maintenance or restoration of the residents’ independence
  • Establishing and maintaining effective communication with residents
  • Supervision and effective leadership of Therapy staff
  • Maintaining accurate resident information
  • Responding to the requests and concerns of families and other carers

The Skills, Knowledge and Experience required:

  • Bachelor of Science (Occupational Therapy)
  • Current registration with the Occupational Therapist Registration board of WA
  • Previous experience working in an aged care environment (Desirable)
  • Experience in effective supervision and performance management of staff
