We have a great opportunity available for a Laundry Assistant at our Juniper Gerdewoonem site located in the beautiful Kimberley town of Kununurra. 

The primary purpose of this role is to ensure that all linen and residents' clothing is appropriately laundered and returned them. We are looking for a special person that will appreciate that a person's clothing is important to them and deserves respect and care. You will need to be mindful of privacy and able to manage a busy day with high volumes of linen and personal items to launder.

This will be a perfect opportunity for you if you have a passion for your work and also enjoy being with older people and making a positive difference to the lives of others. The duties of this role may vary depending upon the operational needs of the facility.

On offer is a part-time position, working 20 hours per week. You will be required to work  The shifts will be either 8am to 12pm or 9am to 1pm every day, Monday to Friday. 

Key Responsibilities of this role:

• Attend to residents’ laundry including the washing of residents’ clothing according to manufacturers’ specifications
• Ensuring bed linen is stripped, laundered and labelled correctly
• Demonstrate respect for residents’ property and privacy.
• Adhere to safe use of equipment instructions and maintain the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Adhere to Juniper's policies and procedures relating to Occupational Safety and Health

The Skills, Knowledge and Experience required:

• Working knowledge of laundry and cleaning procedures.
• Demonstrating good written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of relevant chemicals and safe handling practices and procedures
• Must have excellent organisational and time management skills
