Therapy Assistants help improve the quality of life for every individual accessing aged care services with Juniper. They listen, care, engage with and enable people to make the most of their abilities and take part as they choose to. We are now seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, passionate about this vocation, to join the Allied Health team at our Juniper Charles Jenkins Transition Care facility, located in Bentley. In this role you will assist in the delivery of high quality therapy services, sharing responsibility for the well being of our clients and actively contributing to the development and implementation of programs which meet their physical, cognitive, social and emotional needs.

On offer is a part time position, 7.5 hours per week working every Wednesday. Some additional hours may be available from time to time to cover planned and unplanned leave. 

 Key Responsibilities of this role:

  • Actively contribute to the development and implementation of innovative and balanced activity programs which meet the physical, cognitive, social and emotional needs of each individual.
  • Assist clients and aged care consumers with group and individual activity programs designed to stimulate cognitive ability
  • Assists therapists in maintaining/improving functional independence
  • Contributes to the evaluation of care plans
  • Completes therapy statistics on a daily basis
  • Provides feedback to therapists on the outcome of interventions

The Skills, Knowledge and Experience required:

  • Completion of a Certificate III in Allied Health (essential)
  • Past experience working as a Therapy Assistant or Lifestyle Coordinator in aged care or rehabilitation
  • Experience in any form of rehabilitation will be well regarded
  • Experience working in the Aged Care Industry is essential, either Transition Care, Home Care or Residential
  • High levels of verbal and written communication skills are required for interacting with staff, clients, consumers, families and service providers
